Our packaging is extremely important: it protects and ensures the quality of Tetra products and plays a major role in preserving their shelf life. To reduce the negative impact of waste materials on the environment, Tetra is constantly working on ways to further decrease its carbon footprint, such as cutting back on plastic or making responsible use of wood as a raw material. Since 2020, we have been a certified partner of the Finnish Cycle4green initiative, which allows us to recycle waste paper in a fully closed-loop material cycle, preserve key resources and make a sustainable contribution towards environmental protection. As a result, we now recycle over 55 tonnes of waste paper per year, saving around 111 tonnes of CO2, which equates to the average annual CO2 emissions of 23 people.
From waste paper to fully recycled paper products – Cycle4green has set itself the task of recycling carrier materials. For a long time, this type of waste was mainly disposed of by landfilling or incineration, but Cycle4green uses innovative technologies to reprocess these materials and reintroduce them into the material cycle. Once the waste has been sorted into designated collection containers, the waste paper is picked up from the customer’s premises by authorised logistics partners – free of charge and throughout Europe. An environment-friendly and sustainable initiative that preserves valuable resources.
