More information
Tetra Pond AquaticCompost is a mixture of natural clay granules and high moor peat, specially developed to promote healthy plant growth as well as rapid plant establishment. Tetra Pond AquaticCompost is suitable for all pond and marginal plants. The clay particles supply the pond plants with important micro-nutrients directly at their roots to prevent nutrients from escaping into the pond water. This pH-optimised pond soil owns a firm structure to ensure good oxygen circulation and less rotting in your pond. Due to this characteristic unnecessary pollution and an excessively high nutrient content in the water despite fertilisation is avoided. To achieve the best possible result, follow the detailed instructions. Tetra recommends to place hessian fabric or similar material in your planting basket and fill it half full with Tetra Pond AquaticCompost. Afterwards, press down the compost firmly to avoid any air pockets and remove planting weights and packaging material. Place the plant in the basket and hold it so that the underside of the buds is on the same level as the edge of the basket. Shorten the plant roots, if necessary, to prevent the roots from kinking, which could impair plant growth. Fill the basket with compost up to approx. 2.5 cm from its rim. Press the compost down firmly and top it up if necessary. Add a layer of 2.5 cm of washed, lime free gravel to the top of the compost to prevent fish from disturbing the soil. Water the plants thoroughly before placing the plants in an ornamental pond. In the end, slowly lower the plants into the ornamental pond to avoid damaging them.
